Saint-Martin’s local economic motor is tourism.
This operation aimed at conforming and transforming existing holiday cottages into a “little tropical paradise” representative of the West Indies, with wooden Creole huts and outside relaxing spots.
This operation enters into the Collectivité’s policy to reclassify “guest-houses” to increase the local stock of tourist accommodation.
In order to make the structure more attractive, works were carried out to improve the general aspect of the premises. Those works included renovating bathrooms, wooden huts, inserting open kitchens, outside wall coating and the creation of outside relaxing spots by the swimming-pool.
The total amount for this operation is € 86,131.16 and, for this, Couleur Café SXM received a subsidy from EFDR for € 39,122.39 and another one from the Collectivité de Saint-Martin for € 20,000.
In Saint-Martin, the European Union supports actions aiming at ensuring an environment favouring growth and company competitiveness.
